 Kartwheels' volunteers participate in all of the areas and activities available. After orientation
and training, volunteers assist program participants in the pool and the gym. Volunteers are a vital component
of the Kartwheels program as typically Kartwheels maintains close to a 1:1 ratio of volunteers and participants.While in the pool, volunteers work with an assigned child on swimmming strokes and exercising. There is always time available for fun pool games too. While in the gym, volunteers play soccer, T-ball, tag, and other games right alongside the children. Volunteers can sign up to help in the gym, pool, or both as their schedule permits.
Kartwheels welcomes volunteers of all ages. Many Kartwheels volunteers are from local high schools and they are completing their community service requirement.
CORI checks are done on all prospective volunteers. Kartwheels always remembers that without the good will, energy, and dedication of our volunteers we would not exist.
We pledge to offer each volunteer as much support and encouragement as we can throughout his or her service.
We train each volunteer, listen to questions, and do the best we can to help each volunteer to grow with us.
